Today, we are interviewing Saint Joseph’s University freshman Peyton Margetich (’22). She told us about her most important college dorm essentials that help freshman year of college to be a breeze. It wasn’t hard to find her essentials, either. She looked online and shopped Bed Bath & Beyond.
WEST SIDE BEAT: What did you need the most this year that every freshman should have?
PEYTON MARGETICH: Plastic silverware.
WSB: Do you recommend buying or renting your fridge, microwave, etc.?
PM: I recommend buying because the ones you rent don’t work well. You will also need it for future times.
WSB: What did you buy that you did not need but everyone calls it an “essential”?
PM: A safe. Nice to have but never used. Maybe buy one to share.
WSB: What did you buy after you moved in that you would recommend having from the start?
PM: A stool. You need something to get into your bed.
WSB: What is your college’s essential?
PM: Paper products. Buy in bulk.
WSB: Anything you would tell a future freshman?
PM: Don’t overbuy. Have bedding and things like that. You can always buy more.
Margetich finished off by saying, “Freshman year is going to be hard, but it’s a bunch of fun.”
