The 2023 Senior Prom will be held at the Drexelbrook Ballroom in Drexel Hill.
June 1, 2023
Get ready, West! Prom is coming up! On June 2, the 2023 Senior Prom will be held at Drexelbrook Ballroom from 7 p.m. until midnight. It is sure to be a big event, with over 400 tickets sold. So what about it do you need to know?
For starters, pre-prom activities. As per tradition, photos will be taken at Eagleview Town Center (if the weather cooperates!). It is probably best to arrive there with your friends around 5 p.m., which gives you enough time to take pictures before heading over to Drexelbrook. Something else to note is that the car ride to the venue from Eagleview is about 45 minutes with no traffic, so make sure to factor that into your plans!
Everyone reading this probably has a general idea of what the prom entails, but the senior prom is different from other dances because it has a sit-down dinner. The signature dish of the evening is Mexican-inspired, although there will be other options if Mexican isn’t your thing—or for those with allergies! There will also be a surprise signature drink.
The No. 1 thing to know about prom? Mrs. Bigelow said, “Definitely wear comfortable shoes, don’t go barefoot, and to just really be in the moment and enjoy it! Stay the whole time. You get one senior prom.”
And the fun continues once the prom ends! Be sure to swing by West after the prom for the Post-Prom Party. This year’s theme is “A Night at the Movies,” and activities include mini golf, games, a casino, and a fortune teller. The link to pre-register is in the @dwestpostprom bio or on the QR code of flyers around the school. It doesn’t hurt to pre-register, even if you’re on the fence about going! It also saves a phone call to your parents the night of.
Your senior class officers are hard at work planning this event, and it’s bound to be a blast! Remember to have fun and stay safe!
