Spring is here, and the the official girls’ lacrosse season is just starting up!

Tryouts for Varsity and JV were held a few weeks ago, and the first varsity game is on Thursday, March 31st, away against Coatesville, at 3:45 pm.

The girls began their season with an away scrimmage against Souderton where they won. They have been practicing daily and are preparing for the big first game of the season next week. These girls will take on 18 different teams this season, with 10 games at their home field. The huge battle of Downingtown West vs. East will be a home game on May 3rd at 7:00 pm, and the final regular-season game will take place at O’Hara at 3:45 pm.

The team has 5 seniors graduating this year: Libby Strauss, Lauren Tinson, Peyton Margetich, Gianna Jaszczak, and Paige Spoors. When asked about the season starting, senior Libby Strauss said she is beyond excited to see all of the diversity and dedication on the team show the potential that they have once they get onto the field.

All of the girls on the team are all looking forward to this season on the team, and I can not wait to see how far they are able to go this year. With preseason practices and the in-season weekly practices, this team is ready to take on this year’s season and put all of their hard work and dedication into each and every one of their games. These girls have the whole school cheering them on and hoping for them to make it even further in the playoffs this year than they did last year!
