Playing it Loud: West Marching Band Celebrates Great Season
January 12, 2022
Make some noise for the Downingtown West Blue and Gold Marching Band! In the fall, our school’s band traveled to championships in Hershey to compete in the Cavalcade of Bands. With a score of 96.1 , our band played it loud and proud. This year’s show, “The Matador,” consists of a Latin rhythm for the theme of bullfighting. Our school’s competition felt the wrath of the bull as the band pulled the big red flag as the finale to the show. Ole!
The marching band traveled to Pasadena, California, this past week to participate in the Rose Bowl Parade and represent the music program for the east coast. Teaming up with the Downingtown East Marching Band, there were over 275 students representing our school district proudly. The band was welcomed back last Monday with an escort from the fire department and light-up roses from the supporting band parents.
Congrats to the Blue and Gold Marching Band on a fantastic and memorable season!
