When hurricane Ida hit our area in early September, the devastation was everywhere. I, like many others, wanted to do something to help the people affected, so I got involved with a local organization designed to support local residents in need of assistance. Rebound of Chester County is an amazing volunteer organization which takes in donations from anyone and stores them and hands them out to anyone who needs them. They have anything and almost everything you might need. Rebound has jackets, sweatshirts, blankets, pillows, kitchen utensils, and much more.

Carol Boyle, a volunteer at Rebound of Chester Count shared the group’s mission and focus following its establishment in the fall.  She said, “It was about helping anyone affected by the flooding and becoming a better role model. Luckily, I have had the opportunity to volunteer and it has changed my life. Being able to help those affected makes me feel like a better person. It feels amazing to give back”.

If anyone you know needs jackets, bedding, everyday household needs, or kitchen utensils, then tell them visit Rebound of Chester County on Facebook to see everything they offer. If you and or your family and friends would like to come out and help then visit that website as well.  Working with the organization would be a great graduation project opportunity for West students, so keep that in mind if you are still looking for a project idea!
