The boys of Downingtown West basketball had high hopes for their 2021 season, even under the strange circumstances of a global pandemic. COVID-19 left the West questioning if their season was still a possibility. However, after getting the go ahead from the state and DASD’s athletic director, West was off running, giving it their all in practice.

West started its season off strong, defeating Avon Grove at home 58-50. Unfortunately, the team lost their next two games before getting hot. West bounced back with an eight-game win streak. Shortly after, they lost their last 2 games of the season, which eliminated them from district playoffs. Sean Kaiser (’21) shared, “We had a strong senior class that helped us pull through with a strong regular season.”  There is certainly a lot to look forward to in the 2022 season and beyond.

Overall West finished the season 9-4 and hopes to improve on that next year.  Congrats to the boys on a great season!
