iCarly (TV-G)

Want to watch a throwback show?! iCarly is about three young kids who host a video blog show. There’s Carly, Sam, and Freddie. The show originally aired on Nickelodeon. There were only a few seasons but definitely worth the watch.

The Vampire Diaries (TV-14)

This show is graphic but really good. This show is about a young high school girl named Elena who lives in a small town in Virginia. She comes across two young vampire brothers named Stephan and Damon Salvatore. The brothers pay a visit to the town and the plot evolves for 8 seasons.  This is a binge-worthy show, but I stress that it is graphic because it is dealing with the “supernatural.”

Gilmore Girls (TV-14)

Gilmore Girls is a drama about the relationship between a girl named Rory and her mother, Lorelai. The two live in a small town called Stars Hollow, Connecticut. Lorelai came from a wealthy family and had Rory when she was young, so she decided to move to a small town on her own. The show continued on for 7 seasons. I interviewed student Ashlyn Brown (’21) about her love for Gilmore Girls.  She shared, “It’s funny but also has some serious parts to it. I also like the connections everyone has with each other.”

New Girl (TV-14)

Looking for a really good comedy!? New Girl show is about a woman named Jess who moves into an apartment with three men: Nick, Schmidt, and Winston. A guy named Coach lived there for a period of time throughout the show also. The show is based on their everyday life. The show has 7 seasons and a great show to binge-watch. New Girl does have some mature comedy and content, but its short episodes are perfect for when you’re in the mood for a quick episode after school or before bed.
