On December 21, 2019 the Chester Valley Dance Academy put on their annual show “The Nutcracker.” The dancers took the stage at Phoenixville Middle School at 2:30 PM. This is an annual show in which all of the dancers prepare for months ahead of time.

One of the dancers and fellow Downingtown West High School students, Emery Cottingham (’21), said “Everyone works really hard to put on the show. It is one of my favorite times of the year that I can spend with my favorite people doing something I really love.”

The Chester Valley Dance Academy holds auditions in August in order to put on the show by December. The dancers rehearse for four months in advance to perfect their roles. They put on their show for their friends and family members to showcase all of the hard work that they put into their show.  At the end of the show all of the dancers come out to greet their friends and family members who shower them with flowers and praise. Clearly, all of the hard work the members of the dance academy truly pays off.
