During the final two weeks of October, Downingtown West hosted students who came all the way from Denmark. The students arrived in Downingtown on October 21 and were greeted by their host families.

This is an annual event at West. For a few days, the students shadow their host West student in their classes. They then go to New York City and Philadelphia. One of the participants of the exchange, Rosie Byrne (’21) said that she was most excited about “seeing the similarities and differences between the cultures…especially the food!”

In the spring, the students at West will hop on a plane and travel all the way to Denmark for their own experience in a foreign country. Rosie explains that she is also looking forward to “experiencing the daily life of her Danish exchange student and the activities they do for fun.”
