The 2019 Boys Lacrosse season is here for the Whippets. The Whippets went 10-8 last year, losing in the opening round of District 1 playoffs to Garnet Valley. After a tough but fulfilling season, the team lost eight seniors due to graduation and are only returning 4 starters this season. However, there is still a lot of buzz surrounding the team this year. I caught up with junior Defenseman Andrew Rowland to chat about the upcoming season.

Q: What is different about this team as opposed to last year?

A: The team is a lot closer this year than we were last year, more like a family now than just a team.

Q: What can we expect from the team this year?

A: We’re hoping to make it back to the playoffs and win there.

Q: Anything else you want to say about this upcoming season?

A: We’re looking forward to a lot of wins this season; something big is on the way.

The Whippets kicked the season off against Ches-Mont opponent Oxford on Thursday, March 28th. This year’s squad know no one thinks they’re capable of anything, but these aren’t the same Whippets you’ve seen the past few years. The whole team knows what they’re capable of, so don’t be surprised if things start to look different atop the Ches-Mont standings for boys’ lacrosse!
