Concluding last weekend, the annual Philadelphia Flower Show finished its yearly run with this year’s theme of “Flower Power”. Floral artists from all around the world came together to compete for and compete for the FTD Interflora World Cup, attracting thousands of local and tourist visitors to the Philadelphia area.

Famous for its elaborate floral designs and sculptures, the flower show brings people out of their wintery blues and pushes them forward into spring! With this year’s theme being “Flower Power” many florists interpreted this theme into their own meaning and created spectacular installations and sculptures.

This year’s top favorite was the “Woodstock Garden.” This masterpiece of floral installation attracted a plethora of different viewers who bonded over this peaceful and loving exhibit! The Woodstock masterpiece was a large scene designed to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the grandfather of all music festivals. Florists, sculptors and influencers everywhere pushed for some type of Woodstock-themed flower show, and this year’s theme of “Flower Power” fit these requests perfectly.

Hippies from all over Pennsylvania came together during this two week period to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Woodstock, and the announcement of another Woodstock this year.  Rose Mastrangelo (’19) says of her experience at this year’s flower show, “This is the second year I’ve come to this, and it will forever be a tradition! This year’s theme I like better than last year because I relate to the theme so well.” Everyone was most definitely pleased with the glorious, colorful floral sculptures.

Year after year, the Philadelphia Flower Show surprises sponsors, judges and viewers everywhere. If you haven’t been yet, you should most definitely plan to take a day trip to Philadelphia next year and check out the amazing exhibits!
